CCMO's integrated model means that peacebuilding, education, WASH, protection, livelihoods, and infrastructure are not separate silos — they are interlocking pieces of a holistic strategy for community resilience. A borehole serves a school; a peace dialogue creates the conditions for learning; a livelihood program gives families the stability to keep children in class.
CCMO's peacebuilding program is at the core of our mission. We facilitate inter-communal dialogues, train peace committees, and mediate conflicts over resources such as water, grazing land, and cattle. Our protection work includes specialized GBV prevention and response — with safe spaces, psychosocial support, and referral pathways for survivors. We also advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in all community decision-making.
Our flagship education program delivers quality learning opportunities to children and adults across South Sudan. We build and rehabilitate classrooms, train teachers, provide learning materials, and integrate peace education into every curriculum. Our adult literacy program empowers community members — especially women — with the foundational skills they need to participate fully in civic and economic life.
Access to clean water is a fundamental human right — and a critical foundation for peace. CCMO drills boreholes, rehabilitates water points, constructs latrines, and delivers hygiene education in schools and communities. Our WASH interventions reduce waterborne disease, improve school attendance (especially for girls), and create shared resources that bring communities together.
Food insecurity and economic vulnerability fuel conflict. CCMO's livelihood programs address both immediate needs and long-term resilience. We provide emergency food assistance during crises, train farmers in climate-resilient agriculture, distribute seeds and tools, and run cash-for-work programs that inject economic value into communities while building essential infrastructure.
Sustainable peace requires the full participation of youth and women in decision-making. CCMO delivers leadership training, mentorship programs, and governance education that equips young people and women to take active roles in community leadership, peace processes, and local governance structures.
During crises — whether conflict, floods, or displacement — CCMO provides rapid, multi-sectoral emergency assistance. Our response includes health outreach, shelter support, and distribution of non-food items such as blankets, cooking utensils, and hygiene kits to displaced and vulnerable populations.
Physical infrastructure is the backbone of community resilience. CCMO builds and rehabilitates schools, health posts, water systems, and access roads — employing local labor through cash-for-work to ensure skills transfer, economic benefit, and community ownership of every project.
